Description

Located to the North of Mâconnais region, Viré-Clessé appellation gathers vines from Clessé and Viré villages. Only one appellation was retained to identify these wines from the best slopes of Mâconnais since their flavors are very similar. The vineyard has a suitable North/South exposure at over 44 meters in altitude, and enjoys a well-drained ground. The soil is mainly made up of clay and limestone. Thus, the Chardonnay grapes of Viré-Clessé reveal specific and unusual aromas far from the southern appellation such as Pouilly-Fuissé and Saint-Véran.

Winemaking

Stainless steel for 8-10 months with control of temperatures. 100% malolactic fermentation.

Tasting note

Our Viré-Clessé reveals a nice pale yellow gold colour. The nose is expressive with notes of fleshy white fruits, honey and white flowers. In the mouth, it is ample and balance to give a generous and delicate wine. Nice freshness.

Suggested food pairings

Veal blanquette, seafood, mullet filet, cheese
